It
is safe to say that we are officially in the heart of awards season. And you know what that means --- plenty of
New Yorkers head out West and dawn their best. Last
night was no different; both native and transplant New Yorkers walked the red
carpet in exquisite gowns ranging from modern whimsy to classic
silhouettes. Tracy’s New York Life
has rounded up our best-dressed New Yorkers from last night’s Golden Globe
Awards. Check out a few of our favorites.
Co-host
of the night, alongside her SNL alumna Amy Poehler, Tina Fey is New York at its
best. She had many looks last
night, but her most flattering was the L’Wren Scott dress she wore
to walk the red carpet. Fey’s style has evolved over the years to a point of poise and sophistication that New Yorkers can be proud of.
Claire
Danes is a born and raised New Yorker, and Homeland has placed her in a spotlight that's been a long
time coming. My So Called Life,
anyone? Last night, Danes wore a sexy, red Atelier Versace dress that showed off this
new mom’s fabulous post-baby figure, and unbelievably just one month after delivery.

Jessica
Chastain. Need I say more? I was able to see Zero Dark Thirty before the awards and her performance was so brilliant
that she honestly could’ve worn a paper bag. But of course, she didn’t. Her seafoam
Calvin Klein Collection dress was a standout of the night. Complimenting her
gorgeous red hair, she paired the gown with Harry Winston jewels. Lucky for me
I’ll get to see this NoHo dweller on Broadway in The Heiress later this week.

Rachel
Weisz and Daniel Craig. Thank you, England. The day this gorgeous and
talented couple bought an apartment in SoHo, NYC instantly became more
beautiful. Nominated for her role in The
Deep Blue Sea, Weisz went for a fun look in a sheer, polka-dotted Louis
Vuitton dress. By her side, Craig looked very Bond-like in a Tom Ford tuxedo and dark sunglasses.

Lena
Dunham had quite the night at the 70th annual Golden Globes. Taking
home two awards, this writer, director, producer triple-threat showed that New
Yorkers do it all. A TriBeCa Native, Dunham wore a decadent aubergine dress,
designed by fellow New Yorker, Zac Posen. It was a welcomed change to see Dunham
showing off her glamorous side.

Anne
Hathaway rarely disappoints, both in style choices and acting performances.
Last night was no exception. Hathaway represents the borough of Brooklyn, where
she lives with husband Adam Schulman. Having chosen Chanel because it made her feel ‘like herself,’ she looked
confidently comfortable when taking home the award for playing the role of Fantine in Les Misérables. And hey, if Chanel makes you feel like yourself, you must be
feeling pretty good.

The
night was filled with fabulous looks from all attendees. We are proud to see
that our New Yorkers won major points not only for their acting abilities, but
their personal style as well--- we wouldn’t have it any other way. Congrats to the nominees and the winners!
