Despite Cold, NYC Looks Chic on First Day of Fashion Week

by Tracy Kaler

Black is still the classic city color

Streetwear is an important part of NY fashion week. New Yorkers never disappoint while modeling their self-assured urban style. Black is always a mainstay in Gotham's wardrobe, but we're seeing some pleasant pops of color mingling outside Lincoln Center.

It's been quite chilly in NYC, but yesterday's guises resembled the digs of a crisp November day rather than the typical down gear we're accustomed to wearing on the streets in February. And the surprising thing--- no one looked cold. It must have been the heat and anticipation of the new fall collections in the air.
