With just a hint of '70s whimsy and flare, this solid bandeau bikini is just the right bit of romantic for city ladies. Try on the Red Carter 'Studio 54 Bikini' ($175) in person at Brooklyn swimwear spot, Breeze Swimwear and beat those tan lines.
At NYC newcomer, Everything But Water, you'll find just that, and in every size. More coverage, less coverage, hipster, halter – there is a design for everyone. They even offer 'Fit Experts' who are not afraid to tell you that the yellow Brazilian-cut bottom you have on is just not working. While the prices can be upwards of $250, it is rare that you'll find a bathing suit that feels like a flattering second skin.
This Zimmermann 'One Piece Bandeau' ($295) offers a sexy sweetheart neckline and open back while it remains flattering. Triple threat much? Check out Everything But Water's only NYC location on Madison Avenue. And, if you find yourself in the Hamptons with lots of sunblock and no b-suit – do not resort to skinny dipping – there's an Everything But Water conveniently located on Newtown Lane in East Hampton.
If you’re looking for something nouveau retro, head to notable lingerie store, Azaleas, which boasts an impressive variety of swimwear inventory. For a little extra support and gorgeously feminine print, take home this ‘Trellis Underwire Bikini Set’ from Ella Moss ($120).
Worried about tan lines? Remove the optional strap and you’re all clear. Be the subject of trend envy in this Zinke ‘Starboard 1 Piece with Removable Peplum Waist’ ($132), a cheeky one-piece with solid panels and centered red chevron pattern in front. Swoon.
With fit experts and a whole lot of variety, you’d think we covered all of our swimwear options. And then came Keiko, who “understands that finding the perfect suit is difficulty for any body.” Originally designing costumes in L.A., Keiko Fukuzaki rose to swimwear fame via the cover of Oui magazine in 1979. Then came Bergdorf's and Saks, and Barney’s, and finally, her own retail store with made-to-measure suits in a variety of styles and colors. Set up an appointment with Keiko and settle for nothing less than a perfect bathing suit.
