A card that screams “I Love New York” is my kind of card. Share your love for New York City with a 3D Big Apple art card. Available on Etsy, this boxed set by artist Jonathan Kaler consists of eight 5.5″ x 5.5 ” 3D cards made from heavy-weight black card stock. Each piece features negative apple silhouettes paired with a textured linen interior printed with the iconic statement, “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere.” (How apropos!) Also on the inside, a black skyline includes the Statue of Liberty, Chrysler Building, and Brooklyn Bridge.
The devil is in the details (and craftsmanship). Expect holographic, decorative and metallic papers paired with linen envelopes in mix-and-match colors. The stationery is packaged in a heavy-duty, windowed craft box in case you’d like to give the set of eight cards as a gift. (Hint. Hint.) The price is $69.
Besides the boxed set, you can also purchase individual Big Apple cards for $9. I might suggest framing and hanging one or several as artwork.
In case you’re wondering about the last name, full disclosure, Jonathan is my ultra crafty Seattle-based brother-in-law. He’s a whiz at pretty much anything artistic. Jonathan’s done graphic design, copywriting, art directing, and worked in all forms of media. Thanks to Jonathan, I have one of his cards in my collection and it’s displayed prominently in my living room for all to see. This Big Apple card is a daily reminder that I do indeed live in and love New York City.
