Always dramatic and never expected, the team at BG creates cutting-edge scenes with decorative elements and merchandise from the stores at 58th and Fifth Avenue in midtown Manhattan. This year’s theme, “Holidays on Ice,” celebrates a range of American holidays including New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Groundhog Day, Mardis Gras, April Fool’s Day, Arbor Day, 4th of July, Halloween, and Thanksgiving.
Revealed this year on November 19, the theatrical Holidays on Ice windows are on Fifth Avenue, and 57th and 58th Street windows show off a range of Bergdorf’s luxury items. Winter white and snow-covered evergreens merge with layers and layers of ice, beads, jewels, feathers, fur, glitter, and sparkle. I think the Groundhog Day window is particularly cute and clever, and I love the use of shoes throughout. If you cursor all the way through to the last slide in this blog post –– although this is not on my 2013 New York holiday gift guide –– Windows by Bergdorf Goodman would make an excellent present for the fashionista in your life. You still have nine days until Christmas, so hurry!
