So let’s start with a “Welcome Cocktail,” because every warm-weather gathering should begin with a summer sip. Don’t you agree?
THE TORQUAY (pronounced “tor-key”)
Makes 1 cocktail
2 quarter-inch slices lemon
5 quarter-inch slices seedless cucumber
2 1/2 ounces (74ml) Hendrick’s Gin
1 1/2 ounces (44ml) St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the lemon and 4 slices of the cucumber then add the gin and St. Germain. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with the remaining cucumber slice and serve.
