I can’t tell you how often I use the website, Expedia.com. In fact, I’ve booked most of my flights through Expedia over the years. So when they asked me to contribute to the Expedia pocket guide, I was thrilled.
This New York City pocket guide is terrific for Big Apple-bound travelers. The trusty handbook offers helpful tips from some of New York’s in-the-know bloggers, and covers art, culture, shopping, food, and more. I shared my knowledge in the theater section and suggested some of the current must-see shows on Broadway and Off-Broadway. Here’s an excerpt from my contribution to the guide:
BEAUTIFUL, Stephen Sondheim Theatre, 124 W 43rd St 10036
Timeless tunes will keep your feet tapping and voice humming when you see Beautiful, the delightful, Grammy Award-winning musical based on the true-life story of singer/songwriter Carole King. Just like her career, this inspiring show is brimming with hits, but it’s this girl’s mythical voice that transports her to stardom as she shapes a generation. Sung with passion and emotion, iconic songs you’ll hear include “It’s Too Late,” “One Fine Day” and “You’ve Got a Friend,” plus covers of classic songs such as “On Broadway” and “Up on the Roof.” Beautiful is simply the perfect way to describe this show.

Many thanks to Expedia for reaching out and including me in this project.
