People gather for day two of New York Fashion Week. |
On the second day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC, a packed house of 500-plus sat patiently as the start of Nautica in Lincoln Center’s Salon was delayed. New Yorkers are late for everything it seems, including fashion.
I had a seat in the second row toward the end of the runway, thanks to my friends Jeff Fontana and Barry Fidnick, who happens to be an amazing photographer. Had Barry been there to shoot the photos of these hot, hunky men as they made their way down the runway, you’d be sweating by the end of this blog post. Even if you’re a guy. Yes, they were that beautiful.
A parade of male models strutted with intent in Black Sail by Nautica’s 2014 Fall Collection. Comfortable layers, rich fabrics and textures, and neutrals with occasional splashes of color were themes in this mostly outerwear assortment. Parkas, bombers, vests, and Merino wool sweaters with a few flannel pieces mixed in, created a visually stunning fashion show on yet another frigid day in New York City. Somehow, when I left the venue, I wasn’t cold at all.
Here’s a selection of pieces from 2014 Black Sail by Nautica.
By time time I had left, the plaza had begun to fill as fashionistas, designers, and press gathered for day two of the iconic event. More to come from NYFW over the next week, so stay tuned!
And stay warm this weekend.

Thanks Phil. That coat was my mom's. I always feel fancy when I wear it 🙂
