|Sunset on the Sound|
It’s my final days of peace and quiet on the Long Island Sound. Time has flown as I expected. I’ve realized my instinctive connection to nature. My dirt road is home to deer, rabbits, toads, groundhogs, and just about every other small wild animal that thrives in the rural landscape. I’ll miss my cricket in the yard each evening. As I walk outside, it becomes silent, only to start chirping away as I come back into the cottage.
I’ve missed New York terribly, but I love the life that I’ve lived here for five weeks. Walks and ball playing on the beach with Bogey, stunning sunsets, local wine tastings, and cooking with fresh seafood and produce have recharged my city battery. I’ve written each day, and I think I’ll continue to write about my experiences here long after June 30.
I’m already looking forward to the next trip. I could spend hours of time in this corner of the world, doing so much, or absolutely nothing.
