Spanning eight blocks between Division Street and East Houston, Orchard Street is a fantastic place to shop on NYC’s Lower East Side. Historically known as a discount shopper’s dream, the street has undergone a number of changes over the years, with designer boutiques slowly replacing family-run businesses. But change doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of unique places to explore! Here are some stores to visit during your next Orchard Street shopping spree.
MooShoes, 78 Orchard St
Do you have a soft spot for animals? Venture into MooShoes, where you’ll find shoes, accessories, apparel and more that are 100 percent vegan and cruelty-free. You’ll find great styles for women and men alike, and the price points are surprisingly affordable.

Karma, 38 Orchard St
Art lovers will enjoy perusing the stock at Karma – an inconspicuous book store and gallery that sells contemporary art publications, posters, and records. Don’t wait too long to visit, though. Karma has changed addresses in NYC several times, and it’s still unknown whether this Orchard Street location will be temporary or permanent.
Zarin Fabrics, 69 Orchard St
Fans of the Real Housewives of New York City will recognize this one. This family-owned business, currently owned by Bobby Zarin (husband of former housewife, Jill Zarin) is known for its endless collection of discounted designer fabrics, but there’s much more than that. The store also carries furniture, hardware and tons of stylish home decor and accessories – perfect for any domestic diva.
