Welcome back to the Tracy’s New York Life podcast. This podcast features excerpts from my life in New York City.
I was all settled in my New York apartment and all of my belongings had found a home. I realized almost instantly that moving to the Big Apple meant that I had to adapt to the New York lifestyle (of course!), which also meant doing a lot of things differently than I had pre-NYC. Yes, I had lived in cities and visited New York many times since I was a child, but I had not lived here. Living in a high-rise building, riding public transit, and dealing with crowds of people weren’t part of my everyday world when I lived in Atlanta, Georgia.
Silly me – since I had so much to think about during my short six-week window before I relocated, I didn’t give the details of NYC life much thought at all. In all honestly, I was so excited about the opportunity to live in the greatest city in the world. Once I had moved to the Upper East Side, though, I was forced to adjust to my new-found city life and all that went along with it in a matter of days.
In this podcast, I talk about how I stepped beyond my comfort zone and confronted my fears one by one (there were several), so I could get the most out of living in New York City.
