Welcome back to the Tracy’s New York Life podcast. This podcast features excerpts from my life in New York City. Ah yes, moving to NYC…. Many of you who follow this blog dream of living in New York, just like I did a decade or more ago. Unexpectedly, my dream became reality, and you never know, yours could too.
Before Mike and I attempted to rent an apartment in New York, we didn’t know the rules and income requirements, or how owning a large dog and two cats would limit our choices. Sure, I understood that renting in NYC was far from easy, but reality set in once Mike had found and accepted a job in the city and we needed to find a place to live quickly –– in a matter of days. In truth, finding and renting an apartment in Manhattan is one of the craziest and most stressful things I’ve done in my lifetime.
In this episode, I talk about my experience renting an NYC apartment (and how it pained me to write a really big check to get it), as well as making the big move from Atlanta to New York City in 2007. I had little time to realize the life I was leaving behind and the life that would become my future.
I hope you enjoy episode three of the Tracy’s New York Life podcast –– “Mission Impossible.” Click the arrow to the left below and listen. You can subscribe to the Tracy’s New York Life podcast on iTunes too!
