|Have you been to the opera?|
We have just over a week left in January, so if you haven’t made a list of things to do in New York for 2016, you’d better get busy. Rather than a seen-it-and-done-it-before lineup, try making an effort to step outside your comfort zone this year. You might discover a new hobby, an attraction you never knew about, or a type of food you haven’t tried before.
If you’re a veteran New Yorker and think you’ve seen and done all this magnificent city has to offer, I bet I could come up with at least three activities you haven’t tackled yet, or a longer list of things you haven’t done in recent history.
For instance, remember when you saw an Off-Broadway play back in 1991? Well, the plays on the New York stage today are more than likely pretty different than they were 25 years ago.
And, remember when you ate Ethiopian food for the first time in 2008? You enjoyed it too! Well, I can promise that you’ll find a host of new restaurants and foods you’ve never tasted within the five boroughs of this city if you’re willing to look and stretch your palate. And travel, because you might need to move beyond your 10-block radius.

Experience New York’s plethora of cultural offerings. Shop elsewhere. Become a more adventurous eater. Take a trip to another borough. Yep, you can do it all and never leave NYC. What are you waiting for?
